Study Reptiles & Amphibians in the Field this Summer!
Interested in biodiversity and field biology? Field herpetology (BIOL418, Class # 76829) is an upper-level course that offers three lab credits over two weeks in late May and early June. The course is centered around scientific field work with local reptiles and amphibians. Students will learn reptile and amphibian identification, sampling methods, and the basics of scientific collecting through hands-on experiences. We will meet all day Monday through Friday from May 22nd to June 2nd (the gap between Spring and Summer terms). During daily field trips, students and instructors will explore local natural areas in search of reptiles and amphibians. This long-running course is taught by a team of KU Herpetologists with decades of experience in the field.
