Joe Manthey and Rob Moyle publish exciting paper in Molecular Ecology

Thursday, July 2, 2015

Joe Manthey and his mentor Rob Moyle just had an exciting paper published (in press, but already available online ) in Molecular Ecology Manthey and Moyle studied the genetic differentiation among populations of a bird in the sky islands of Arizona using next-gen sequencing.  The major finding is that environmental distance among montane patches of habitat explains genetic differentiation, not geographic distance.

The paper is already getting some notice online and was mentioned in a posting in the Molecular Ecologist: ”If you are out there looking for a blueprint for the future of IBE studies, Manthey and Moyle have kindly provided a preview of the type of papers you are going to be reading quite often over the next few years.”
